Javier Hernandez did not fail Mexico in giving Coach de la Torre's debut match against Paraguay.
The Manchester United 22-year-old striker scored his first goal on a diving header off a pass from Pablo Barrera. Hernandez raced past a defender and knocked the ball into the left corner of the net, catching Paraguay keeper Justo Villar leaning the other way.
Andres Guardado goal made it 2-0 in the 29th minute for Mexico, Hernandez added his second goal five minutes later on another shot from in front of the net. Hernandez later received a standing ovation from the pro-Mexico crowd when he checked out in the 65th minute.
Goal Keeper Talavera, one of three keepers de la Torre is considering for the starter's spot, nearly had a shutout before Riveros scored in the 87th minute on a quick deflection from just in front of the goal.
