Manchester United fan Sarah Webb-Lee, 39,was using a sticker on the rear view window of her Vauxhall Corsa car saying"On the first day God created United then completely f#cked up and created City."
A local politician relayed the complaint made by a local Manchester City fan about the sticker joke to the police. A police was dispatched to the home of Manchester United Fan Sarah Webb-Lee in Stockport.
Mrs Webb Lee's husband Graham is a Manchester City fan and does not see anything wrong about it except those F word.Sarah Webb-Lee and husband Graham were informed that they have violated the terms of Section 5 of the Public Order Act. A portion of it should be removed or totally erased it. Sarah Webb-Lee and husband Graham removed only those letters that are offensive.
Mrs Sarah Webb-Lee was telling the Manchester Evening News: "I couldn't believe it when the police turned up. It was just a bit of a laugh. We don't have many rights left but freedom of speech is worth hanging on to. I won't take it down.
"It's just a bit of banter and you hear worse on the terraces. I see lots of things about United and take it on the chin."
Local Police Inspector Stephen Gilbertson said:
"We received a complaint about the language contained in a car sticker that, by law, is offensive.
