Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has cautioned his football players that they should not be complacent too much after winning against an old foe such as Manchester United at Anfield Stadium on Sunday. .
The win against Manchester have erased a bad memory the previous week against West Ham.
But Daglish believes that there's hope is for the championship is still there after winning against Manchester United.
“It is three points but it is not the end of the season for us just because we have had a fantastic result against a team leading the table,” he said.
“If we play like that against any team we would be happy with the performance, and it shows you what the players can do and want to do. But you can never take away the disappointment of West Ham. We can use that as a reference point.”
Dalglish praised not only Kuyt and Suarez but the whole team who defended well and made a team effort to do their best despite of the recent problems and injuries.
Against United the 60-year-old played a 4-4-2 formation, having experimented with different formations and players, the loss of Fabio Aurelio to injury during the first half did not even caused an alarm to their defense. As long as the team do there part of not being selfish in defense and offense, we can surely win even if were facing a strong team.
“You cannot carry anyone in a game against United, everyone has to play,” added the Reds boss.
“Dirk rightly got the headlines for the hat-trick but Luis put in a fantastic performance.
“I have always believed that it is about people so you can have any formation you want, it is the players that make it.
“They were fantastic and it did not matter what formation they played, formation was irrelevant.”
A new formation has evolve since Andy Caroll debut against Manchester United 15 minutes before the end game. A Suarez and Caroll tandem can make the team a very powerful team with the help of Dirk Kuyt.
“I am really looking forward to Luis and Andy forming a fantastic partnership at the club.”
